AIR MAX MONDAYS: Nike Air Max “Glow Collection”

2013 has been the year of the Nike Air Max for sure. Nike has been pumping out more Air Max concepts than most sneakerhead’s wallets can keep up with…and this is just for the single shoes. They have also been hammering us with collections, which have had me smashing my piggy banks on the pavement all year! But that being said…I’m not mad at them at all!

AIR MAX MONDAYS: Nike Air Max 2014+ Flyknit

I will be very honest with you and tell you that I’ve always liked sneakers that push the limits when it comes to the imagination, but sometimes even I have my doubts about some of the concepts Nike comes out with. One of the very few concepts that came out of the Nike camp that had me scratching my head in disbelief was the “Flyknit” campaign. How the hell can you make anything knitted look appealing? When I think of knitting, I think of quilts and elderly people chilling in their special chairs creating masterpieces for their loves ones…but that’s just me!

So before I even get started I know a lot of people will be thinking…”didn’t they already cover the Nike Air Max 93?” The quick answer is…YES, but if you are a real sneakerhead you would know better than anyone that it is rare when a sneaker made out of suede. Furthermore, a sneaker in such a beautiful colorway is just as rare!

Due to the success of the more established Nike Air Max sneakers in the series (Nike Air Max 87, 90, 93, 95, 97, etc.), it is far and few between where you will see a design in this sneaker line that doesn’t follow the mould of these classics. That being said…it does not mean there haven’t been attempts to try and make a new classic.
