AIR MAX MONDAYS: Nike Air Max 95 “Ekiden Pack”

Have you ever had one of those moments when a great sneaker comes out in so many colourways it makes your head hurt? Well my fellow sneakerheads let me introduce you my current headache. Introducing the Nike Air Max 95 “Ekiden Pack”. This Air Max pack has me popping Advils because I can’t choose which one I would want to get…but with things like this you just think to yourself…when in doubt just BUY THEM ALL!

It is stated that the Nike Air Max 95 “Ekiden Pack” is named after a long distance race that is held in Japan each year. It is a gathering of the best collegiate teams from the Kanto region of Japan for a two-day, 217 kilometer race between Tokyo and Hakone.  If that is the case…it must be a nice race to dedicate 5 CRAZY colourways for it! WOW! This pack fully shows that you don’t have to do much changes to classic sneakers to make them a hit.

The 5 colourways for this pack are used to represent the top 5 collegiate that participate in this event, which are Komazama, Kanagawa, Toyo, Josai and Waseda. To be very honest with you this info doesn’t mean much to me…but if these are the school colours for these schools I know the FIRST places I will be visiting if I ever get the chance to go to Japan! Though the design can come across as looking very basic…it gets the job done with the way the designers have used the gradient gray to blend in with the various colours.

As you already know, I’m a sucker for Nike Air Max 95s and these will be something I will definitely want to add to my collection of Air Max. These are hard to find to buy, it is stated that they are exclusively available at a Japanese retailer called Mita-Sneakers…looks like I might have to make that visit to Japan sooner than I thought! Time to pack my bags!
